ACTIVE – PASSIVE RFID ITEM TRACKING SYSTEM

The Item Tracking System helps the items stay in the desired positions by tracking the location of the fixed and moving items. It also performs the inventory count. Thanks to this system, items that are critical for diagnosis, treatment or emergency interventions, as well as fixtures, assets and any other items can be easily tracked and controlled.

Item tracking is carried out in two ways. Active tracking and passive tracking. In active tracking, the CALLVISION Active Label device is attached to the moving items. This device transmits instant location information to CALLVISION RF Location Scanners. If Active Label is removed, it sends a warning to the system. Battery-powered Active Tags do not need to change batteries for a long time thanks to their low energy consumption. The system gives a warning when the batteries are about to run out. In active tracking, the user determines a safe area for a moving item on the hospital plan. If the item is tried to be removed from this area, the system warns.

In passive tracking, passive RFID tags are attached to the items. The items tagged are identified on the spaces with the CALLVISION Handheld Terminal device. When a count is requested, the authorized personnel hold the hand terminal device from the door of the room towards the room and show it around. Thanks to the RFID system, the items in the room, the items that should be in the room but not in the room, and the items found there when they should be in another room are shown on the Hand Terminal screen. The same information can be accessed from the C4S system.

In addition, in passive RFID tracking, reader antennas are placed at the exit doors of the hospital to warn the system in case of theft. This prevents the tagged devices from being stolen.
